This past month was great. After settling in from California, I quickly hit the road again to Nashville over MLK weekend where I saw an old friend and amazing live music. Beyond that I’ve had a few other old friends visit from out of town, and it was great to connect with them. Reconnecting with old friends is one of my four favorite things about having moved back to Detroit.

Also, this month I achieved a goal of mine: serving food to strangers! My friend organized a secret brunch in her house. We invited people, those people invited people, and by the end of it, I had served a set menu Lebanese brunch to over 30 people! That’s over five dozen eggs! I was exhausted and I have a new found respect for people in the food industry. They are on their feet all time, it’s hot, and the pay isn’t great. So next time, tip well!
