Well its no secret that Detroit (and most of the country) is experiencing one of the coldest winters ever. Despite the cold weather I have been able to find more than a few great things to be a part of. This month has had no shortage of amazing events to take part in that have truly kept my mind off the weather, which is nice.
This month I have been fortunate enough to be a part of:
- Tom’s Super Bowl Party: Fellow Fellow Tom Schuelke was nice enough to invite friends, family and fellows into his home to celebrate the Super Bowl. Despite the game being uneventful there was plenty pulled pork, chili, and other delicious snacks to go along with the amazing company of my fellows. So thanks Tom!
- Pistons vs Spurs: My fellows and I were invited to watch the Pistons play the spurts with the Detroit Young Professionals this month. The event included great seats, food and networking with the young movers and shakers in the city of Detroit. Thanks you DYP for an amazing event.
- Challenge Detroit was also invited to spend time with Connect After 5 this week. We were able to participate in an event hosted at Fishbones downtown. Again the food and company was amazing.
- February 19th I took a break from the Challenge Detroit Intramural basketball team and decided to attend an event at Grand Circus showcasing some of Detroit’s best and brightest new start-up companies. This event was full of bright ideas and great companies.
- One of my favorite events thus far would have to be Yoga Rocks Ford Field. Ford field was transformed into the biggest yoga studio ever as over 2,000 people gathered to take part in amazing session. I hope that this event happens again because it was definitely a success.
- Last but not least this past Sunday the fellows and I were able to attend a play at the Matrix Theater. The play served as one of our cultural events this year and was very entertaining. I would suggest attending a play at the Matrix Theater if you are ever in the Detroit Area!
February is gone and March is approaching so fast. I can’t believe I am just about half way through my Challenge Detroit year. Detroit ha been amazing thus far ad I’m sure it will continue to be. Thanks for reading!
