I have fallen victim the PokemonGo craze during the past couple of weeks.  I have been glued to my phone trying to catch Pokemon that are slowly taking over the world.  While people may be annoyed by the game, many people enjoy playing the game (myself included).  For those people that are interested in PokemonGo I have picked the best places to catch Pokemon in Detroit:

Wayne State University

There are Pokestops and Pokemon all over Wayne State.  The University is full of people walking all over campus trying to catch Pokemon, and walking from lure to lure.  You’ll catch plenty of Pokemon and you’ll be really entertained from all of the people watching.

Belle Isle

The James Scott Memorial Fountain is beautiful, especially on a hot day.  There are also a ton of Pokemon, mainly water type Pokemon.  At the fountain there are four overlapping Pokestops that are usually lured creating an endless stream of Pokemon.

The Renaissance Center

I have not actually been to the Renaissance Center to catch Pokemon, but I have heard from multiple sources that it is some sort of mythical electric Pokemon paradise.

Downtown

Campus Martius is amazing for Pokemon full of Pokestops, lures, and people.  The amount of people in Campus Martius makes it a fun place to play, the gyms are really good and full of strong Pokemon.  You could spend all day playing Pokemon in Downtown, just make sure to bring a portable charger.
