Question: Tell us about your company and what you do.
Answer: I work at hiredMYway.com, a technology start-up that is a platform for companies to source and filter talent to fill their open positions at all levels. My title is “Marketing Associate” which means I get to do a little bit of everything – social media management, blogging, interacting with job seekers and so much more.
Question: Describe an accomplishment or contribution you’ve made at your company.
Answer: When I joined hiredMYway.com in September I immediately became a part of a smaller team in charge of launching a new initiative focused specifically on college students, CollegeTopTalent.com. As a part of this team I have helped implement a social media strategy and manage all candidates that sign up on the site on a daily basis, as well as create and implement a campus ambassador program.
Question: What makes working for your company unique?
Answer: There are so many things that make working for hiredMYway.com unique, starting with our bright green wall! Since hiredMYway.com is a start-up that is nearly three years old, we are constantly innovating and brainstorming together on how to continue to make our product the best it can possibly be for our customers. Any idea is given its fair chance and we all work together to make the best things happen. Even as a new employee, I have the opportunity to come up with the next best idea.
Question: Why do you enjoy working in the Detroit community?
Answer: I enjoy working in the Detroit area because it is a close knit community where everyone knows someone that has the skills you need or can introduce you to your next business partner. The opportunity to network within the business community, make connections and grow professional relationships is a wonderful perk of living and working in Detroit.
Question: What’s the biggest highlight of working at your company?
Answer: The people! Working at such a small organization I get to know each individual. We enjoy lunch together, toss around a bouncy ball to get our creative juices flowing, or engage in some awesome strategy sessions at the drop of a hat. I have really enjoyed the past seven months and am looking forward to many more to come.
