When I came to Detroit four months ago I really had no idea what to expect. I had just accepted a job at hiredmyway.com doing video work, which was something I had never done in a professional setting. Since then I have learned so much about video production and have continued to challenge myself to learn as much as I can about the industry and Detroit in general.
As the Challenge Detroit videographer, I have gotten to document these past few months from an outsider’s perspective looking in. Every Challenge has been uniquely different, and I have been working with the fellows to show the world what amazing things we are accomplishing right here in Detroit.
Although I don’t work on a team during the challenges like all of the other fellows, I get to work with everyone as a whole. During my challenge Fridays, I interact with the different groups to film captivating video clips that we can use in the final recap videos for each challenge. Luckily for me, the fellows are all really eager to help and are used putting up with my creative process and crazy ideas.
Although editing everything together can get a little crazy at times, I am glad that I have this opportunity to document the revitalization of one of the most interesting cities in the world. I look forward to 2013 where I can continue to challenge myself, the other fellows, and most of all, Detroit.
