I remember just a year ago I was sitting in Howard University’s commencement ceremony. I couldn’t wait till it was all over so I could fly away, finally a graduate of undergraduate who wouldn’t have to take classes he found inconsequential ever again. A graduate of undergraduate, ready to face the world and be who I’m going to be. Now it’s my sister’s turn. She tore her way through Howard with reckless abandon. Joined every organization that mattered, then made herself a leader. She’s going to medical school in Cleveland now. Funny how we trade places. One leaves the Midwest and another comes to live in it. Anyways, President Barrack Obama spoke at the commencement this time around. I tried to act unimpressed, but it was really cool I won’t lie.
