When you pass UFO Factory, it’s hard to ignore. There is a giant satellite protruding from the top. How could you possibly miss that? Apart from minimal signage, there are few features that distinguish what exactly is inside of UFO Factory. Surely, it leaves many people wondering, “what is that place?” as they pass by.

UFO Factory was founded by Dion and Alicia Fischer to create a space for artists and musicians to share their art and to meet. But rest assured, you are welcome here. Owner Dion Fischer stated, “we have some weird art and weird music, but everyone loves hot dogs and beer.”

Upon stepping across its threshold you are instantly greeted by a memorable visual. The silver walls. The soundless action projected on the walls. The artwork running the length of the building. The two solid arcade games just past the entrance. All of it topped off by a smiling photo of Hoot Robinson greeting you and reminding you of the building’s history.

Few bars and restaurants are willing to commit to their audience as UFO Factory does, open 7 days a week, 15 hours a daily. It is a space for karaoke. A venue for touring bands. Always offering tasty eats from their in-house restaurant Laika Dog. Art constantly cycles across their walls and there is no shortage of material to capture your gaze. But most importantly, don’t forget to check out their bathrooms.
