Recently I joined a Detroit Ultimate team. In college I was on my school’s Ultimate team, and it was one of the greatest experiences of my life. More than just forcing myself to get outside, it was a way for me to feel apart of something greater than myself. That I was just a small, but important, part of something that affected many people’s lives. A collective that was greater than the sum of its parts. Typing this out, I see a lot of similarities between my sport and the values that ChallengeDetroit holds dear. Playing the game once with more with teammates both new and old helped me feel at home in a place that is still new to me after almost a year. It’s good to be back.
