This will be my first full summer in Detroit and I am looking forward to taking full advantage of the nice weather, and outdoor events in Detroit. I’ve loaded up on sunscreen and created a mini bucket list for this upcoming summer.
Detroit Tigers Baseball
Located in the heart of Downtown, Comerica Park is a beautiful place to enjoy a summer afternoon and take in a Tigers game. While I’ve already gone to a couple of games this year, I’ve been to a couple of cold games this year already, hopefully for my next game I’ll get a chance to work on my base tan.
New Center Park Movies and Events
New Center Park screens free movies on Wednesday and Friday nights during the summer, there is also a bar and grill there if you’re craving a dinner and a drink as well.
Detroit City Football Club
There’s been a lot of talk recently about Detroit getting an MLS team, but there is already soccer in the D that has a large following. They have new stadium in Hamtramck, creating the perfect opportunity to get out and enjoy a soccer match.
Detroit Grand Prix
The Detroit Grand Prix takes place from June 3-5 this year on Belle Isle. If you’ve never seen a car go 200 mph, this is your chance.
Woodward Dream Cruise
This year the dream cruise takes place on August 20th and is an embodiment of many generations of the Motor City cruising down the iconic Woodward Avenue from the suburbs all the way Downtown.
