I’m the type of person who likes to write lists. I thought this might be the perfect time to jot down a few things as it’s still at the start of the New Year. This list is much more for me than it is for those reading this blog and this is partly because I need to remind myself to keep my attitude light and fresh during mid-winter when days are short, dark and dreary. I recommend you do the same! I need it; maybe you will find that you do too! I like to keep the winter blues at bay. The list is as comprehensive as I can muster. Enjoy!
- Relish in your interpersonal relationships. The people in our lives make all the difference in our approach to life and how we seek out fulfillment on a daily basis.
- Do something fun, spontaneous or out of the ordinary. Sometimes it’s the simple things that break up the cycle of life.
- Walk, run, meditate, practice yoga, or dance! Move your body and get those endorphins going. A little movement never hurt anybody!
- Look around you, there’s someone near you who adores you. Appreciate that!
- Take time for you. No pressure.
- Don’t sweat the small stuff, and if you can’t avoid it share your frustrations with your closest friends. A different perspective can always be a game changer.
- Just because someone undervalues you doesn’t mean you have you undervalue yourself. Know your worth!
- Don’t let your environment define you. You are not your job, your mistakes, or your faults. Use the lessons you’ve learned productively and constructively.
- Be great no matter what life throws at you. Resiliency propels us forward.
- Treat others with kindness. Grace is always appreciated.
