Who ever says there’s not much to do in Detroit is sorely mistaken.  Just recently I had to choose which event to attend on a Saturday evening.  Thats right there were just too many things for me and my friends to do in one evening. Since it’s the holiday season we chose to experience Detroit’s 40th Annual Noel Nights.

Noel Nights was certainly a night to remember.  It is an evening celebration of the holiday to help everyone get a jump start on their holiday shopping, and get into the holiday spirit. Hosted in Midtown, most art galleries, small businesses, and shops open up and welcome in the community. Sounds of feet fill the streets, while music and great smells billow out of the store fronts.  It was a night that reminded me how great Detroit really is. I spent the evening with other Fellows, Bithiah Lee, Jason Zogg and Marlo Staples striding up and down Woodward, Cass and other side streets popping in and out of shops, discovering new places to eat and shop and experiences the greatness that the city has to offer.

Just a few of the gems include Nora, City Bird, Green Garage, the DIA and The Peacock Room.  These are staples in the Detroit community are great places to experience the true revitalization of city.

I look forward to many more Noel Nights as I continue to support the efforts of the city and the people that make it great each and every day.
