Hello there,

My name is Caroline Dobbins and I am a member of Challenge Detroit’s inaugural class of 30 Fellows that will LIVE, WORK, PLAY and GIVE in the city of Detroit  for 1 year. It is going to be an exciting journey, to say the least, with 30 bright minds, 30 dedicated companies, 10 non-profit challenges and countless chances to take part in the change that is beginning reshape one of the greatest cities in history.

Though I’m ready to see what the city will throw and me and discover my place to fit in as well as opportunities to stand out I am also more than just a Fellow, so let me give you some of the highlights:

Education: 2012 Graduate of Albion College with a BA in Economics and Management with a minor in Communication Studies

Greatest Adventure:  Semester long internship program in Philadelphia, PA

Favorite Food: Macaroni and Cheese

Favorite Treat: Ice Cream

Biggest Motivation: The feeling of success, knowing that I worked as hard as I could and did the best I could to accomplish any task or goal set for me or by me.

Favorite Friday Night Activity: Spending the evening with close friends enjoying each others company

Ten Words to Describe Me: Active, curious, hard-working, family orientated, dedicated, reliable, caring and organized.

There you go! I’d say that’s me in a nutshell and I think that if you ask most people that know me you’d get those answers too.  Anyways…. back to Challenge Detroit!  I will spend the next year working for a tech-start up called hiredMYway.com as a Marketing Associate.  I am looking forward to working with such a young star-up company that shares the same interest in changing the conversation about the city of Detroit.
