I love the holidays in Detroit!
The annual tree lighting ceremony in Campus Martius Park was the perfect way to welcome in the holidays. The city was alive with Christmas music, ice skaters and of course the beautiful tree.
Another perk to living and working downtown is seeing the city’s Christmas tree lit up everyday from my office building and during my walks around town.
The Detroit Thanksgiving Parade was also this month. It’s always been a tradition in my family to watch the parade on TV, but I’ve always wanted to see the parade in person. This year I was able to watch the parade from the warm fourth floor of my host company’s (Marketing Associates) office building.
I felt like a little kid again as the floats and balloons rolled down Woodward Ave.
I’m excited to celebrate the holidays in Detroit and continue to check off things on my to-do list:
- Ice skate in Campus Martius
- Noel Night
- Shopping! There are a bunch of new pop-up retail spots on my walk home from work that will definitely help with Christmas shopping this year.
- New Years Eve celebrations
-Meagen
