Question: Tell us your favorite way to play in Detroit.

Answer: If there is one fun thing about Detroit to stand out from the rest it is definitely the music scene/culture down here.  Coming from East Lansing, there were not many music venues around the city, if any.  Music has always been one of my greatest passions and in East Lansing if  me friends and I wanted to go see a concert, we would have to drive far away.  In Detroit, this is not all the case.  I can now walk to these venues and it is awesome!

Question: What makes Detroit’s social scene unique?

Answer: Being used to the nightlife in East Lansing, it is definitely nice to switch up the weekends by going to more concerts and doing something different when looking to go out.  Don’t get me wrong, Detroit definitely has some great bars and other places to go out on the weekends but there is nothing like having the option to go to concerts within a mile away from me.  I think that is what makes part of Detroit so great, the variety of options to do something different on the weekends.  I encourage everybody to see what Detroit is all about!  The city is full of surprises and everyone should start experiencing them!

Question: What else would you like to share about playing in Detroit?

Answer: It seems like everyone living in the city has a lot of passion for the city of Detroit.  I have not met one person living downtown to not say anything they like about living in the city.  Detroit has so many different things to offer to fit so many different personalities that there is bound to be something for any type of person to find uniquely enjoyable about Detroit.

Question: What was your favorite event in the city this past holiday season?

Answer: My favorite event near the holidays was by far going to see one of our friends whose stage name is “Griz” play a sold out show at Saint Andrews!  There was nothing like the energy in the building that night.  All of our friends were there to support Griz and what he’s doing.  We all got so see him play shows in basements in college and to now be playing sold out shows in Detroit along with many other places, there was nothing like it.  There is truly no way to describe the feeling of the energy and passion everyone in that building had to do nothing but get down and have the most fun possible!  If you don’t know this feeling then I strongly suggest going out and getting this experience that everyone deserves.
