So since I moved downtown I am happy to announce that I have done a lot of walking. On my way down Lafayette I head towards Campus Martias Park passing landmark rivals American Coney Island and Lafayette Coney Island, and it’s hard not to stop and pick up a couple loaded coney dogs and compare the craftsmanship. My vote is always for Lafayette Coney Island, classic.

Even on a full belly of hot dogs there’s always room for some local brew down at Grand Trunk Pub on Woodward, so I take a right at the traffic circle and cut through Campus Martias Park. It’s easy to meet up with friends here or at any other establishment downtown along Woodward because it’s such central location. And don’t just write off an experience at the historical Grand Trunk Pub with some drinks, taste the awesome burgers too! With many new business setting up shop downtown, the afternoon time is filled with tons of people walking around enjoying the hustle and bustle of the city. This bustle attracts delicious food carts such as El Guapo offering a very sweet and spicy jalapeno limeade, my favorite.  If you can’t tell by now I love to taste Detroit, and about now it’s dinnertime. I begin the short journey up Woodward towards CoPa (Comerica Park, get with the program people) and hang a left onto Elizabeth, already taking in the delicious scent of my favorite shwarma at Bucarest Grill. Of course serving a scrumptious shwarma, they even have great vegetarian dinging like their homestyle potatoes and veggie shwarma. After about two full bellies I can call it quits for the day, but there is much more food in store for tomorrow, I can’t wait!
