May week 1: I attended the Marygrove Motor City Makeover event May 2nd to wrap up the work we did during Challenge #4. About half way though the event a volunteer truck drove my offering us more waters and signs. To my surprise they were our signs!! I was overwhelmed with pride and happiness to see our work being put to use!
May week 2: Interview Trip week for Challenge Detroit was absolutely fantastic! The candidates all brought their A game and a fresh perspective to Detroit which I think we all appreciated seeing. Stay toned to hear who our Year 4 fellow will be! Meanwhile, year 3 fellows wrapped up another Challenge with the Health Disparities Coalition. This Challenge more then over had me looking at issues in Detroit I never considered before.
I spent my weekend in my hometown. This was my first mothers day in a long time at home and I was nostalgic for all sorts of things mom related. I loved every minute of my time in Minster and accomplished a few things off my wedding to do list.
May week 3: I spent week 4 in Orlando, Florida attending the annual Association for Talent Development conference. I was blown away by this opportunity. I learned a lot about talent development and what is happening in my industry and had a great time bonding with co workers.
May week 4: Was back to the grind as we introduced our 6th Challenge with 8 Mile Boulevard Association. I’m looking forward to working with a larger team this round as we take on the Central West portion of Detroit 8 mile between Greenfield road and Woodward. Over the weekend I spent more time with my fiance and his family for the holiday break.
May week 5: As my Levy Team preps to disperse for weddings and more work trips I prep for my first instructor lead training June 1.
