Hello, world!
During our first week as fellows, we were briefed on the “Social Media Challenge”, a year-long initiative to document our interactions with the Detroit community and expand Challenge Detroit’s digital footprint. By now, I’m sure you’ve been exposed to my sudden upsurge in activity on Instagram, Facebook, and Twitter and my use (and abuse) of the hashtag. Believe it or not, the hashtags aren’t just fun and games. They’re meant to categorize my social media activity with relation to my commitment to live, give, work, play, and lead in the great city of Detroit. Here’s a more detailed breakdown:
#live refers to any reflection on life in the city
#give corresponds to service activities
#work covers anything related to my work with Macro Connect, Inc.
#play … you already know
and #lead is the tag applied to positive leadership experiences
Look for these tags and more information on my whereabouts in the city on my social media feeds and those of my fellow fellows. You can find examples in my live feed below, or my @migzownsdetroit username on both Instagram and Twitter.
