If you’re like me, March was a pretty tough time; spring is on the horizon, but we’re just not there yet.

The fact you are reading a March blog in the month of May should be enough evidence to know that march certainly wasn’t the best month for me.

Of course hindsight is 20/20, but I want to provide some insight to you and for myself for the next Marches to come; the best time to do the things that make you happy is when you’re feeling down.

Part of my downfall was that I completely stopped doing the things that I know can balance my physical, emotional, and spiritual health; Singing (for joy!), eating well, and exercising are the 3 key factors that come together to make a happy, healthy Imani.

Perhaps my biggest regret is that this year has been the most sedative year of my life. To be fair, I did fall in love with my car, and driving around the city of Detroit, but still, there were many moments where I could’ve explored the city in a way that allowed me to be more physically active.

I’m excited to be getting a bike this month. Word on the street is you don’t really know Detroit until you experience it on 2 wheels as opposed to 4.

What is your formula for being a happy, healthy you?
