It also flies when you’re having fun, and this year has been the fastest one yet.

With the year quickly coming to a close, I know that 2015 will be a year to remember – it’s brought new faces, new friends, new jobs and a new city to call home. This year has been one of transformation and personal growth that I will not soon forget.

Considering I began 2015, 6 months out of school and recently unemployed – looking back I have a new appreciation for just how unpredictable life can be and how quickly tides turn. Here are a few things I learned in 2015:

Change is cool but it’s also foreign and can be extremely intimidating, so if there’s one thing I learned this year, it is to embrace it when it comes knocking. As a mentioned earlier, a year ago today I was unemployed having walked away from my first job out of school in December. And while the job was having a negative effect on my personal like, it also paid the bills and kept the lights on.

Walking away from that experience to embrace the unknown is what has led me to where I am right now. It’s been remarkably enjoyable to ride it out through unemployment, getting down to my last dollar, different job prospects, and multiple changes in the win. Stay true to yourself and things have a funny way of shaking out.

I have learned so much over the past 6 months, I can’t even begin to quantify the experience. And if this year has any indication of the last, the learning has just begun.
