    With all the buzz around new restaurants in the City of Detroit, I’ve been trying to think of a way to highlight the thousands (at least it seems like it) of coney islands in Detroit, all of which serve amazing food and have been doing so for years. Couldn’t we find civic/corporate/foundational support for grants supporting Detroit’s coney islands, the food staples of so many different areas of the city? These locations could apply for funds to undertake site improvements or beautification, or even create opportunities for long-time owners to initiate some kind of community-focused engagement with their neighborhood customers. Let’s re-invest in Detroit’s community coneys.
