As I described in previous posts, being back in my hometown is certainly an adjustment, both in terms of enjoying myself and trying to split my time in between my different social groups.

The last group I want to mention are my FELLOW FELLOWS! Its not everyday that you walk into a place and gain 30 built in new buddies to hang out with, which is what makes CD so unique and exciting. Unlike many other programs, we get the chance to see each other EVERY WEEK, so it’s only natural that our bonds grow stronger and stronger over time.

There’s always sooo much to do in the city, so we have facebook groups, group chat messages, etc. to keep everyone abreast of some cool cultural and social events. We celebrate birthdays together, check out new bars and restaurants, and all around enjoy each other’s company.

Let Me Explain: Challenge Detroit is a year of exploration and excitement, but can also become stressful due to the multiplicity of events in addition to our full time job and nonprofit responsibilities. Its refreshing to share moments with people who understand that stress best, because they too are dealing with it everyday! I love my fellow-fellows.

NOW do you see why its so hare for me to equally divide my time?! 🙂
