Through Challenge Detroit, business ownership, and partnership with other organizations, I am learning the importance of women playing vital roles in spaces where decisions around environmental sustainability are made. As the green economy grows, I find it important that women are able to lend their power, creativity, and nurture to industries that take interest in people and planet. Where many Cleantech companies and concepts are brewing and in startup mode, women should have the privilege of learning as they go, as many other populations of people do. My own experience has proven to me that networking events and fearless intros can propel one into this space. The next step should include acceptance and support for women and people of color.
