When I moved to Detroit, it was a huge change for me even just moving from Ann Arbor.  I quickly realized that I knew nothing, or very close to nothing, about the neighborhoods of the city.  I found myself lost in conversations of ‘Indian Village’, ‘Lafayette Park’, ‘Midtown’… etc.

So, I decided to create a progressive map that (hopefully) improves as this year continues.  This is an exercise for me to learn and improve on my ability to locate places throughout the city, but also is an opportunity to accept that I have a lot to learn and to constantly expand my horizons.

The attached image is my starting point and I’m excited to see what continues!
