{"id":13043,"date":"2015-06-30T17:18:26","date_gmt":"2015-06-30T21:18:26","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/challengedetroit.org\/blog\/jasonaoraha\/?p=55"},"modified":"2015-06-30T17:18:26","modified_gmt":"2015-06-30T21:18:26","slug":"the-woodbridge-pub","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.challengedetroit.org\/blog\/the-woodbridge-pub\/","title":{"rendered":"The Woodbridge Pub"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>I&#8217;ve had a lot of great experiences in Detroit during my time here, and I&#8217;m sure I&#8217;ll continue to keep this trend going, but I wanted to quickly highlight my time spent at the corner pub &#8211; The Woodbridge Pub.<\/p>\n<p>The Woodbridge Pub can be best described as an analogy, it&#8217;s the &#8216;hang out&#8217; spot that every 90&#8217;s sitcom seemed to have for its lead roles to advance a plot or just provide some comedic relief. Whether some friends and I were grabbing lunch, dinner, brunch, brinner or whatever make-believe meal time happens to be around the corner, the pub could always provide an area of momentary retreat.<\/p>\n<p>Over the year, I&#8217;ve met new friends and strengthened old bonds where the pub resides, conveniently at the end of the block from my house. Food and drink is often much more than just a meal, it allows a common ground for people to bond over experiences, past and present.
