Considering that the weather is finally warming up, this is my favorite time of the year in Detroit. I tend to stay inside during the winter months so I am ready to be out and explore all that Detroit has to offer. I now have the ability to walk around, eat outside and just explore the great architecture in this beautiful city without freezing. Most importantly I am looking forward to new experiences and sharing them with some of my cohort of fellows.

From live shows to great food it’s no better time than now to be outside and enjoy all that the city has to offer. Even this weekend I am looking forward to going to the Movement festival where some of the best Detroit techno artist will be performing. The atmosphere is always exciting and energetic during events in Hart Plaza. Also, I am looking forward to getting back to watching live baseball and checking out the Tigers and my favorite player, Jose Iglesias. After the games I usually walk to some of the bars/restaurants in the area but preferably, Exodus Rooftop. I love this place in the summer because it offers an option to eat outside on the rooftop and enjoy some of the scenery that Detroit has to offer.

Also the summer is the time that I shift my workout routines from inside to outside. I am looking forward to checking out the new MoGo bike sharing app and riding down the Dequindre Cut, which is something that I have never done. Also, joining Slow Roll for another ride is something I can’t wait to do either. Lastly, since I love to run, hitting the Riverwalk for some great cardio would be ideal as well.

These are just a few things that I can’t wait to partake in this summer, but if you were wondering, Detroit has a lot more to offer during the “hotter” months.
