Do you love trying new, unique foods and restaurants as much as I do? Right, wrong, or indifferent, the first thing I do before traveling to a new city is pick out the restaurants I want to visit. Out of all of the places I have traveled, I can say that the best meals I’ve had have been right here in the city of Detroit. That being said, let me help you satisfy your taste buds by listing a few of my favorite restaurants in the city.

  1. My number one restaurant right now (my favorite changes often) is Selden Standard on 2nd Ave in Midtown. You cannot go wrong with anything on the menu here but if you are feeling adventurous be sure to try one of their rabbit dishes.
  2. Republic Tavern on Grand River is easily a tie with Selden Standard. Their rotating menu offers so many season flavors and unique cuts of meat that will knock your socks off. The wait is usually a bit long but if you don’t mind sitting at the bar I recommend squeezing in there!
  3. My last suggestion is Wright and Co on Woodward. Everything on the menu is incredible but be sure to order the potato chips! You won’t regret it! Also, be sure to try one of their speciality cocktails. If you don’t see anything that jumps out at you, tell them what drinks you typically like and they will create a delicious drink to your liking!

Like I said, my favorite restaurants change often because there are so many to choose from but if you are visiting Detroit you can’t go wrong with any of the three suggested! Hope you enjoy!
