When I first moved into the city, I was nervous about not finding a form of exercise that fits my needs and that I like. I quickly learned that I had more options that I ever had before! While I am going to list a few of my favorites, keep in mind there are ample amounts of options that it would be impossible to not find something you like! So here are just a few ideas to get moving in the city.

  1. Citizens Yoga – one of my personal favorites. Not only are their class times flexible for different work schedules, but they host a lot of community events like free yoga in Campus Martius. These events are fun and a great way to meet people in the city!
  2. Live Cycle Delight. If you haven’t tried a spin class, start here! A great opportunity for an awesome work out and then spend some time checking out West Village. Live Cycle Delight also offers free classes. The next one is on May 5th at 11:00am!
  3. Cross Fit in the D – If you are looking to light heavy weights, Cross Fit might be for you. What I love about Cross Fit is everyone is there to accomplish the same goal and everyone is there to support and push you to reach that goal.
  4. Another one of my favorite ways to get exercise in the city is to go for a run on the river walk. You can get a great cardio session in, with a great view, and did I mention its FREE?
