As an aspiring business owner, I am learned that successful people are those who never stop short to the finish line. Throughout my career, I’ve strived to stay consistent about consistency in all that I do. Even businesses and services fail which is mainly due to the lack of dedication to consistency.

If I say I’m going to do something, I do it. If I say I’m going to be somewhere, I’m there. If a client request something that is taxing on my time, I must do it. If I initiate a new business process or initiative, I follow through. In my experience, consistency is a must as you build and grow your business.

Here’s why:

  1. Without consistency success is not measureable!

Until I have tried something new for a period of time and in a consistent manner, I then decide if it works or not. Without consistency, success is not measurable.

2. Consistency creates accountability.

I  remind myself that accountability for deliverables and goals are best when complete in time. I work to establish consistent and recurring touch points when a project or aspect of the business requires attention. The ultimate fact that there is a set time to report on progress is often the determining factor that moves an initiative along to a successful end.

3. Consistency establishes your reputation.

I’ve learned that business growth requires a track record of success.  I can not establish a track record if I am are constantly shifting gears or trying new tactics. Sometimes it is important to complete one task before moving to the next.

Consistency matters when determining success.
